Shades of Pink Interview - Brei Betzold

After giving you teasers of the stories included in the Shades of Pink Charity Anthology in September, this month I'll tell you a little more about the authors involved. I interviewed them with questions about their contributions, their writing life, their works in progress...

Today, Brei Betzold

Kallysten - First, let me thank you once again for being a part of this anthology. Your story’s narrator is only sixteen, and torn between two worlds. Can you tell us a little about her and how she came to you?

Brei Betzold - It’s actually a prelude to a story I’ve had in my head for a long time now. Not sure where I really got the idea for it though.

K - A large part of the story revolves around racing. Is that one of your interests? How did you come to know so much about it?

BB - Yes racing interests me, I was raised around drag racing, stock cars, dirt tracks and any other type of racing my dad could find. He didn’t have any sons, so his daughters were dragged around with him instead.

K - Your books seem to often have heroines interested in careers that are not traditionally considered as feminine. Have you ever considered such a career?

BB - I’ve actually done some of it, when I was in high school I raced at the local drag strip, I was sanding and wet sanding cars and bikes by the age of 6, it’s just stuff I’ve always been around.

K - Can you tell us about your current writing project or next release?

BB - Currently I am working on Tribal MMM 2.5 and another project called No Trespassing, Tribal I hope to have out in October at the latest and No Trespassing in December. After that I am going to work on MMM3 as well as Painted Lines 2.

K- Thank you again for being a part of Shades of Pink. Any last word before I let you go back to your writing?

BB - Thank you for letting me participate and I look forward to reading everyone else’s stories
